Analysis by Region - Asia Pacific
Description
We've cut our 2025 GDP growth forecast for New Zealand by 0.7ppts to 0.7%. The slump in activity in Q2 offset the unsustainably strong growth at the start of this year. The massive monetary policy support which has been delivered over the last 12 months will lift household spending and investment over the next year. Indeed, we forecast continued gradual improvements in activity, which will support GDP growth of 2.1% in 2026.
