Chinese Smartphone Market Development, 1Q 2015
As of the fourth quarter of 2014, Chinese mobile phone users totaled around 1.29 billion and combined user adoption of 3G and 4G reached nearly 47%. Sales volume of smartphones in China arrived at 104.2 million units in the same quarter. Xiaomi, Huawei and Lenovo managed to maintain their leading positions while Apple made a significant progress on the back of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. In contrast, Samsung, Coolpad, and ZTE all showed signs of decline. This report examines the development of the Chinese smartphone market during the fourth quarter of 2014 and the first quarter of 2015, from the perspectives of telecom operators and smartphone branded vendors.
