Because content may not be freely accessible, it can result in several limitations. For instance, using AR technology to view information about strangers would be a breach of privacy. One of the key features of AR devices is providing information about places, streets, offices, and residential buildings. This could be a concern to national security as it can feed terrorists with this information. Though there are no standard regulations set to protect this content currently, it is expected to change in the near future. This is a negative trend that might soon become a market challenge. For instance, in 2014, a man was caught in a cinema in Ohio for wearing Google Glass. The cops questioned him, suspicious that he was actually recording the film. Such cases are expected to increase in the future, which might affect the market adversely and pose a serious challenge for the vendors.”

According to the report, the number of vendors providing AR technology has been increasing in the US. Several consumer brands such as Nike, Pepsi, Maybelline, Converse, among others, have launched AR-based campaigns and a large number of gaming and navigation apps are available on iOS and Android platforms.
