This IDC study presents an outlook for the server DRAM DIMM market for the 2022–2027 period. The DRAM industry dynamics and the server workload changes are aggregated, analyzed, and applied to this long-term DIMM forecast in terms of units and DRAM content per DIMM."Sudden demand disruption is suppressing server DIMM market. Low growth and low-density DIMM preference will continue in the short term. But 24Gb-based DIMM introduction, growing DDR5 penetration, and the CXL introduction will lead certain growth in the long term as the economy recovers," says Soo-Kyoum Kim, associate vice president, IDC's Semiconductor research.
