Worldwide Dynamic Data Grid Managers Software Market Shares, 2016: Coming of Age in the Cloud
This IDC study presents revenue shares of the worldwide dynamic data grid managers (DDGMs) software market by vendor, region, operating environment, and deployment platform type (the user's own datacenter, leased datacenter space, or hosted service, called on-premise/others, versus the public cloud). As development moves more and more to the cloud, developers will be inclined to use the grid managers software provided by the public cloud environment, so suppliers of these products will need to offer something extra in order to compete, said Carl Olofson, research vice president for Data Management Software research at IDC. That something extra may include more comprehensive metadata support, support for the widest variety of data sources, and support for a heterogeneous mix of clouds (such as AWS, Azure, and Google).
