This IDC Perspective examines the approaches taken to securing workloads in the cloud. Looking to gain insight into how security professionals were approaching security in platform-as-a-service (PaaS) and infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) environments, IDC surveyed cloud security decision makers."While the prominence of virtual firewalls and segmentation in the cloud is less relative to other security solutions deployed in PaaS and IaaS environments, the importance of these security functions should not be discounted," says Michael Suby, research VP in IDC's Worldwide Cybersecurity Products group.
