Veritas Vision 2016: The Rebirth of a Phoenix
This IDC Flash analyzes the influence of Veritas' new announcements made during its 2016 Vision event on the Asia/Pacific market.In January 2016, Symantec finalized the sale of Veritas for US$7.4 billion, after providing Veritas solutions under the Symantec brand for the past 11 years. This customer and partner event was the first standalone Veritas event since the 2005 acquisition, and was therefore eagerly awaited by the tech community. Veritas delivered its "Vision" to over 1,600 attendees in Las Vegas this September, with a new strategy and several product releases or updates. Overall, the strategy is aligned to the market's movements and demand, and is sound based on Veritas' capabilities.
