Update on 5G Launches Across Asia/Pacific

5G is gathering momentum across the Asia/Pacific region. IDC projects that the Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) (APEJ) region will grow from just over 2.5 million in 2019 to have nearly 700 million 5G subscribers by 2023. China will be the largest market, followed by Korea and India by 2023. Korea has already gained over 2 million subscribers in a short time, attesting to the adoption potential of 5G. As other markets in APEJ identify and allocate spectrum, we can expect a groundswell for 5G adoption across the region in 2020, says Shiv Putcha, contributing analyst, IDC Asia/Pacific.
