The State of Web Conferencing in 2015: An Industry Focus

This IDC study provides an overview of IDC's Workforce Transformation Survey conducted in February 2015. The survey polled 510 senior executive-level decision makers across sales, marketing, human resources, and information technology in the United States. The survey sought to capture current and future technology and business plans, perceptions, and experiences related to the use of Web conferencing and application/screen sharing applications.

"Many organizations have invested heavily in UC, but there is still an opportunity to augment existing investments with lightweight Web conferencing," says Vanessa Thompson, research director, Enterprise Social Networks and Collaborative Technologies at IDC. "In this context, a Web conferencing solution that also includes lightweight social features is a viable alternative to ongoing investment in aging UC systems."
