Red Hat's Open Innovation Labs Build Empathy into Experiences

This IDC Perspective discusses how Red Hat's Open Innovation Labs initiative helps organizations build empathy in developer, user, and end-customer experiences. Innovation in many enterprises is discontinuous and fragmented. Outdated waterfall innovation processes and inflexible legacy systems can seriously constrain innovation. The advent of flexible digital tools and open source software potentially enables developer innovation to be conducted at pace and scale and map to rising customer expectations. Red Hat's Open Innovation Labs and residency program provides the opportunity for enterprises to seed and embrace digital developer transformation and provide exceptional user and customer experiences. "Red Hat has come up with a concept that is different from traditional lab approaches, which are often used to sell consulting and implementation services. Red Hat's goal is to increase its intimacy and lifetime value to its clients through the transfer of Red Hat skills and knowledge, offering a true win-win for Red Hat and its clients," said Gerry Brown, research director, IDC European CX.
