OpenText Enterprise World 2016: Enabling the Digital World

This IDC Flash discusses the recent OpenText annual user and analyst conference, OpenText Enterprise World, held July 11–14, 2016, in Nashville, Tennessee. OpenText CEO and CTO Mark Barrenechea hosted a four-hour opening session along with Muhi Majzoub, EVP of Engineering and Information Technology. Barrenechea delivered the keynote and set the stage by highlighting what IDC refers to as 3rd Platform technologies (cloud, mobility, Big Data/analytics, and social business) and innovation accelerators (Internet of Things, robotics, IoT, cognitive, etc.) as enabling and providing velocity to the pace of digital transformation. Amid this backdrop, he laid out his plans for OpenText to become a market leader in customer experience management and customer communications management. Barrenechea's theme, engagement to insights, provided the context for highlighting features of the recently launched OpenText Suite Release 16 and set the stage for two new product announcements scheduled for launch in 2H17, Magellan and Project Bandaroo. Project Bandaroo, built on OpenText Core (OpenText's cloud platform), is intended to provide integrated, team collaboration and is designed to incorporate social communities and information and project channels and use intelligent bots for information management, search, and recovery.
