NVIDIA GTC China 2019: Accelerating AI Computing for Robotics and Autonomous Machines

This IDC Perspective discusses the highlights of the NVIDIA GPU Technology Conference (GTC) China event held on December 17-20, 2019 in Suzhou China, during which NVIDIA provided detailed updates on its products, solutions, and strategy. The event attracted 6,100 attendance registration. At the event, NVIDIA launched its latest DRIVE AGX ORIN product which is touted to be the world’s advanced solution for robot and autonomous machines, with 7x performance improvement over its previous generation AGX Xavier. "Sensing, perceiving, planning, deciding, and executing are the core capabilities that are demanding greater computing powers and higher level of intelligence to be built into autonomous either on-board or remotely residing in the edge or cloud," said Dr. Jing Bing Zhang, research director, Worldwide Robotics and Asia/Pacific Manufacturing Insights, IDC Asia/Pacific. "End users need to proactively explore, evaluate, and consider deploying AI powered intelligent edge computing, machine learning, computer vision, and predictive analytics to improve the uptime and overall efficiency of robots as critical assets," added Zhang.
