This IDC study categorizes the Japan storage services market into professional services, which consist of the three categories of consulting, integration, and management services; and support services, which maintain products. A market forecast for 2016–2020 is provided based on revenue performance in 2015 and on market trends."As digital transformation (DX) among Japanese companies continues, and demand for data storage proliferates, it is likely that users will be more critical of the understanding of storage services, as well as of the means to curb the increasing spending on integration, administration, troubleshooting, and storage costs. Vendors providing storage services, on the other hand, will likely face the increasing demand for advanced services, such as IT infrastructure optimization consulting and architecture design intended to deliver software-defined infrastructure, as well as find means to rein in the costs of providing routine services such as deployment and maintenance. They will thus be required to undergo an overall transformation of their services business," says Yasusuke Suzuki, research manager, IDC Japan Enterprise Infrastructure.
