Internet of Things Readiness of Manufacturing in Asia/Pacific (Excluding Japan) 2018
This Market Note discusses IDC's insights on internet of things (IoT) readiness in the manufacturing sector. In 2018, IDC Asia/Pacific conducted an IoT readiness study across 13 countries in Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) (APEJ). This study offers a deep dive that highlights the nations that are IoT-ready in the manufacturing sector across this region. "Singapore leads the way for IoT readiness in the manufacturing sector for the APEJ region, driven by its strong government thrust and robust foreign direct investment (FDI) inflow for technology initiatives," says Hugh Ujhazy, associate VP for IoT, IDC Asia/Pacific. "Knowing where a country stands in the manufacturing loT index will help global and local IT vendors know what opportunities lie ahead of them, challenges faced, and optimum vendor partnerships worth considering for end-user organizations," he adds."China has grown exponentially in the APEJ market, with its focused strategy on making investments in IoT. A fundamental role is played by China's mobile operators in these developments, providing secure, reliable, and intelligent connectivity to enterprise and business across country," according to Deepika Rathod, senior market analyst for telecom and IoT, IDC Asia/Pacific.
