Comic Book Publishing in the US - Industry Market Research Report
Comic Book Publishing
Comic books are largely considered a form of discretionary entertainment; therefore, revenue for the industry suffered over the past five years as consumer incomes fell during the recession. Since 2012, however, publishers have benefited not only from rising disposable incomes, but also from the shift to digital book formats and demand from movie theaters. The industry will continue growing through the next five years, but competition from other forms of entertainment is forecast to intensify.
This industry publishes comic books, graphic novels and related magazines. Industry operators include well-known companies such as DC Comics and Marvel Entertainment LLC, in addition to independent comic and graphic novel publishers. The industry does not include revenue from online-only publishers or from licensing agreements for movies and merchandise.
This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
