Despite facing significant challenges within its healthcare system, Ukraine's cancer therapeutics market is showing steady growth. Cancer remains one of the country’s leading causes of death, accounting for nearly 13% of all fatalities in 2022, according to the World Health Organization. This figure is expected to rise in the coming years due to an aging population and the increasing prevalence of unhealthy lifestyle habits. As a result, there is a rising demand for advanced cancer treatments such as immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and chemotherapy.
However, access to these cutting-edge treatments is still limited, especially in regions outside of major urban centers, largely due to financial barriers and inadequate healthcare infrastructure. Nonetheless, ongoing efforts by the Ukrainian government, in collaboration with international organizations, are helping to improve the availability and accessibility of cancer care, gradually enhancing treatment options for patients across the country.
