This initiative involves collaborations with international technology providers and aims to educate Filipino surgeons in minimally invasive robotic techniques. The program is backed by simulation-based education and credentialing pathways to ensure the safe and effective use of robotic systems.

The Philippine Society of Robotic Surgery (PSRS), founded in 2022, has been instrumental in standardizing training and raising awareness about robotic-assisted procedures. PSRS works alongside hospitals and academic institutions to conduct workshops, certification programs, and live demonstrations, contributing to the development of a community of skilled professionals and enhancing public confidence in robotic surgery.

Currently, robotic systems are available in select private hospitals, with plans to consider modular platforms for broader use in mid-sized healthcare facilities. The Department of Health has shown support for expanding the infrastructure for robotic surgery, especially in cancer treatment centers and tertiary hospitals. Clinical results from early adopters have validated the advantages of robotic systems in enhancing surgical precision and minimizing complications. With ongoing investments in training, infrastructure, and collaborations between public and private sectors, the Philippines is establishing a strong foundation for the wider implementation of robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery. These achievements signify a national dedication to surgical innovation and patient-focused care.
