These programs feature simulation-based training and practical workshops aimed at surgeons specializing in hepatobiliary and gastrointestinal surgery. RSCM's initiatives are part of a broader national strategy to modernize surgical practices and decrease reliance on overseas medical services.

In 2023, the Indonesian Ministry of Health revealed plans to enhance robotic surgery capabilities in public hospitals, beginning with pilot projects in Jakarta and Bandung. This initiative involves collaborations with global technology firms and aims to train over 100 surgeons in robotic techniques by 2026. The consideration of modular robotic systems is particularly noteworthy, as they can be adapted to fit existing operating rooms, making them ideal for mid-sized hospitals.

The growing demand for minimally invasive procedures among urban populations in Indonesia supports the adoption of robotic platforms.
