The laparoscopic devices market in Greece is showing consistent growth, fueled by rising awareness among healthcare professionals and patients about the significant advantages of minimally invasive surgery, along with continued investments in updating healthcare infrastructure. The demand for key laparoscopic access instruments is steadily increasing as efforts to enhance surgical outcomes and meet changing patient needs gain momentum. This reflects a wider European movement towards less invasive, more patient-centered treatment options. According to the May 2025 publication Bariatric Surgery in Greece: National Trends and Outcomes in the Journal of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders, Greece performed bariatric surgery on 76,077 patients, with sleeve gastrectomy being the most frequently performed procedure on 44,367 individuals. This highlights a high volume of bariatric surgeries, many of which are carried out through minimally invasive techniques.
