Egypt's cancer therapeutics market has experienced steady growth, driven by increasing cancer prevalence, an aging population, and rising public awareness about health. Cancer remains a major cause of mortality in the country, with the number of newly diagnosed cases continuing to climb. According to GLOBOCAN 2020 data, Egypt recorded approximately 134,632 new cancer cases and 89,042 deaths related to cancer that year. This growing health challenge has fueled demand for advanced treatment options such as chemotherapy, targeted therapies, and immunotherapy.
Efforts to tackle the cancer burden have gained momentum through both government-led initiatives and international partnerships. The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population (MOHP) has made cancer care a key focus by enhancing services across both public and private healthcare sectors. Notably, the National Cancer Institute (NCI) in Cairo—one of the country's premier cancer treatment and research institutions—offers a wide range of services, from early detection to specialized treatment. The institute is also actively involved in researching cancer trends and patterns specific to Egypt, helping shape more effective responses to the disease.
