Alternative fuel vehicles are those vehicles that operates on energy sources that aren’t traditional diesel or gasoline, such as electricity, biofuels, hydrogen or natural gas. AFVs are designed to lower the environmental impact by reducing the greenhouse gas emissions and its reliance on fossil fuels. They are widely used for commercial fleets, private transportation and public transit for cleaner mobility. Urban regions, government and logistics has higher adoption due to environmental regulations and increasing fuel cost.
Report Highlights:
Hybrid electric vehicles:
New Standard hybrids are powered by an internal combustion engine that runs on gasoline or diesel, along with an electric motor that uses energy stored in a battery. Rather than using a plug to charge the battery, they rely on regenerative braking and the internal combustion engine to recharge—capturing energy that would normally be lost during braking.
Plug-in hybrids, on the other hand, use the electric battery as the primary energy source. They rely on battery power for propulsion over a limited range (typically 15–40 miles) before switching to internal combustion propulsion, thereby significantly reducing gasoline consumption.
