Commercial Wagyu Beef refers to high-quality beef from a specific breed of Japanese cattle, known for its unique fat texture (i.e. marbling) and delicate taste. Wagyu literally means Japanese cattle and covers four main breeds: Japanese black, Japanese brown, Japanese hornless and Japanese shorthorn. These cattle breeds have developed the genetic characteristics of high fat content through long-term breeding. Commercial Wagyu beef usually refers to beef produced outside of Japan (such as the United States and Australia) through crossbreeding with Japanese Wagyu genes (such as with Angus cattle), or directly imported Japanese Wagyu beef, which is used to meet the global market demand for high-end beef. It is characterized by tender and juicy meat, low fat melting point, and a melt-in-the-mouth experience. It is also rich in monounsaturated fatty acids and is considered healthier than ordinary beef.

The commercial production of Wagyu beef has received widespread attention in recent years and is highly praised for its unique taste and nutritional value. Consumers and chefs have high praise for it, believing that its delicate texture and rich flavor are unmatched by other beef, especially in high-end restaurants and the food industry, it is regarded as a luxury.
