The automotive HVAC system is an important part of the car. It integrates three functions: heating, ventilation and air conditioning, and aims to create a comfortable driving environment for passengers in the car.

The system is mainly composed of several key parts: refrigeration system, heating system, ventilation system and control system. The refrigeration system is the core of achieving cooling in the car, and is mainly composed of components such as compressor, condenser, evaporator, expansion valve, etc. The compressor, as the power source of the refrigeration system, compresses the low-temperature and low-pressure refrigerant gas into high-temperature and high-pressure gas, and then discharges it into the condenser. The condenser dissipates heat through the air, so that the high-temperature and high-pressure refrigerant gas is cooled and liquefied into liquid. The liquid refrigerant passes through the expansion valve to throttle and reduce the pressure, and becomes a low-temperature and low-pressure gas-liquid mixture, and enters the evaporator. In the evaporator, the refrigerant absorbs the heat of the air in the car, lowering the air temperature, thereby achieving a cooling effect. The evaporated refrigerant gas is sucked into the compressor again, starting a new cycle.

The heating system provides a warm environment in the car, and the common heat source is the engine coolant. The heat generated when the engine is working raises the temperature of the coolant, and the high-temperature coolant is transported to the heater core in the car through the water pump. When the car needs heating, the blower blows air through the heater core, and the air absorbs the heat of the coolant and is heated, and then sent into the car to achieve the heating function. The ventilation system is responsible for the circulation and renewal of the air in the car. It introduces fresh air from outside the car through the air inlet, sends it into the car after filtering, and discharges the dirty air in the car to keep the air fresh. The control system is responsible for the precise control of the entire HVAC system, including the adjustment of parameters such as temperature, wind speed, and wind direction. The driver can set the appropriate temperature and wind speed according to his needs through the control panel in the car, and the control system will automatically adjust the working status of each component to meet the set requirements.

The car HVAC system has many significant functional features. First, it can accurately adjust the temperature in the car. Whether it is hot summer or cold winter, it can quickly adjust the temperature in the car to a comfortable range. Secondly, the powerful air purification function, the air filter in the ventilation system can effectively filter out impurities such as dust, pollen, and particulate matter in the air. Some high-end models are also equipped with activated carbon filters and negative ion generators, which can absorb harmful gases and sterilize and disinfect, further improving the air quality in the car. In addition, the system also has a flexible airflow adjustment function.
