Global Third-generation HFCs Refrigerant Market Growth 2025-2031
Description
The global Third-generation HFCs Refrigerant market size is predicted to grow from US$ 9704 million in 2025 to US$ 89500 million in 2031; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 44.8% from 2025 to 2031.
Refrigerant is a medium used in various heat engines to complete energy conversion, mainly consisting of fluorinated refrigerants. It can be divided into various types such as ammonia, nitrogen, fluorine containing, water, and hydrocarbons, among which fluorine refrigerants with excellent thermodynamic performance are the most common. The third generation of Hydrofluorocarbon (HFCs) refrigerants are represented by HFC-32 (R32), HFC-134a (R134A), HFC-125 (R125) and HFC-410a (R410a). Their ODP is zero and does not damage the ozone layer, but their GWP value is high and the greenhouse effect is significant. The third-generation refrigerants are widely used abroad and are currently in the early stages of elimination in some developed countries. Some developing countries, including China, have entered the quota benchmark period (2020 2022), during which the production and sales of third-generation refrigerants will become the main reference index for future production enterprises to obtain quotas. The replacement process of refrigerant is slow. It usually takes 8-10 years from the beginning of using a refrigerant to the end of the refrigeration equipment. The third generation HFCs refrigerant still has a large demand space. It is estimated that due to the growth of applications such as AI servers and the reduction of the second generation refrigerant caused by quota agreements, the CAGR of the third generation HFCs refrigerant is expected to be 43.2% in the next five years (2023-2029), and the market size will be 44348 million dollars in 2029, while the market will face a decline after 2029.
