Its structural characteristics are that the silicon oxygen phosphorus skeleton is combined with the hydrophobic methyl group, which gives it high thermal stability, low surface energy, flame retardancy and hydrophobic properties. The compound is usually a colorless transparent liquid or a low melting point solid. It can decompose into silicon dioxide and phosphate at high temperature or inert atmosphere. It is widely used in surface modification, flame retardants and electronic material precursors.
