A parallel absolute encoder is an angular/displacement measuring device that directly provides absolute position information through multi-channel outputs. Its core structure includes a code disc (engraved with binary, Gray code, or other coding patterns) and a corresponding array of photoelectric sensors, with each sensor channel corresponding to a coding bit on the code disc. When the encoder shaft rotates, each channel synchronously outputs parallel binary codes based on the occlusion state of the code disc, enabling real-time acquisition of absolute position values without relying on initial position or continuous counting. It features strong anti-interference capability, non-volatile position information during power outages, and fast response speed, and is commonly used in scenarios requiring absolute position feedback, such as high-precision servo systems, robot joint positioning, and CNC machine tools.
