Upstream of the SiC wafer ingot are high purity SiC source powders, often with controlled particle-size distributions to stabilize sublimation and crystal growth, combined with dopant sources. Downstream, the SiC wafer ingot is shaped and sliced into wafers, which are polished into SiC substrates that serve as the starting material for power and RF semiconductor devices.
