Global Prestressed Concrete Single Wires Market Growth 2025-2031
Description
The global Prestressed Concrete Single Wires market size is predicted to grow from US$ 1333 million in 2025 to US$ 1732 million in 2031; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.5% from 2025 to 2031.
The impact of the latest U.S. tariff measures and the corresponding policy responses from countries worldwide on market competitiveness, regional economic performance, and supply chain configurations will be comprehensively evaluated in this report.
Prestressed Concrete Single Wires are high-strength steel wires used individually (not stranded) in prestressed concrete applications to impart tensile strength and control cracking under service loads. These wires are typically cold-drawn or stress-relieved (or both) and are tensioned before or after concrete is cast to induce compressive stress, thereby enhancing structural performance. Commonly used in precast concrete elements, bridges, poles, pipes, and railway sleepers, they conform to standards such as ASTM A421, BS 5896, or EN 10138, and are available in various diameters (typically 3 mm to 9 mm) with surface finishes like plain, indented, or ribbed.
Prestressed Concrete Single Wires are high-tensile steel wires typically ranging from 3.0 mm to 9.0 mm in diameter, with cross-sectional areas between 7 mm² and 64 mm². They exhibit ultimate tensile strengths of 1570–1860 MPa, elongation at maximum load of ≥3.5%, and a modulus of elasticity around 195,000 MPa. Available in plain, indented, or spiral ribbed surfaces, these wires are designed to enhance bonding and stress transfer in concrete structures. Low-relaxation variants ensure relaxation losses of ≤2.5% over 1,000 hours at 70% stress. Supplied in coils or straight lengths, they are rust-protected and packaged to meet construction requirements in infrastructure, precast, and transportation projects.
