The global Potassium Sodium Niobate market size is predicted to grow from US$ 194 million in 2025 to US$ 398 million in 2031; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 12.8% from 2025 to 2031.

The impact of the latest U.S. tariff measures and the corresponding policy responses from countries worldwide on market competitiveness, regional economic performance, and supply chain configurations will be comprehensively evaluated in this report.

Potassium Sodium Niobate (KNN) is a lead-free piezoelectric ceramic material with the general formula (K,Na)NbO₃, formed as a solid solution of potassium niobate and sodium niobate. Belonging to the perovskite crystal structure family, KNN has attracted attention as an environmentally friendly alternative to lead-based piezoelectrics like PZT due to its strong piezoelectric properties, high Curie temperature (typically around 400°C), and good thermal stability. It exhibits promising electromechanical coupling and is used in applications such as sensors, actuators, ultrasonic transducers, and energy harvesting devices. KNN's development aligns with global trends toward sustainable and RoHS-compliant materials for advanced electronic and MEMS technologies.

Potassium Sodium Niobate (KNN), with the general formula (K₁₋ₓNaₓ)NbO₃, typically exhibits a perovskite crystal structure (orthorhombic or tetragonal) and a density of about 4.3–4.5 g/cm³. It features a high Curie temperature ranging from 390°C to 420°C, making it thermally stable for many applications. Its piezoelectric coefficient (d₃₃) generally falls between 80–300 pC/N, while the dielectric constant ranges from 300 to 800 at 1 kHz. The electromechanical coupling factor (kₚ) lies between 0.4 and 0.6, and it has a coercive field of 8–15 kV/cm and remanent polarization of 10–20 µC/cm². KNN also shows a moderate Young’s modulus (80–100 GPa) and low dielectric loss (tan δ around 0.01–0.05), making it suitable for lead-free piezoelectric applications such as sensors, actuators, and energy harvesters.
