Porous Stainless Steel Plates are engineered metal materials composed of stainless steel with a controlled level of porosity—interconnected voids or pores—distributed throughout the structure. The porosity allows for fluid or gas flow, filtration, and diffusive transport while retaining the mechanical strength and corrosion resistance of stainless steel. Depending on the pore size (typically ranging from sub-micron to several hundred microns), these plates are used in filtration, fluidization, aeration, sound absorption, and heat exchange across industries such as chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, fuel cells, and environmental engineering.

Porous stainless steel plates are characterized by key parameters such as material grade (commonly SS304, SS316L, or SS310), porosity ranging from 30% to 70%, and pore sizes typically between 0.1 µm and 200 µm. These plates are available in various thicknesses (0.5 mm to 20 mm) and offer air permeability values from 0.1 to 50 m³/(m²·h·kPa), depending on their structure. They exhibit tensile strengths of 20–100 MPa and can withstand high operating temperatures, often exceeding 600°C. Their corrosion resistance is high, particularly when using SS316L, and they can be produced in flat, disc, or custom shapes with surface finishes ranging from as-sintered to polished. Due to their controlled porosity, they maintain a lower density (2.5–6.5 g/cm³) than solid stainless steel, making them ideal for filtration, gas diffusion, and high-temperature or corrosive applications.
