Manufactured through powder metallurgy, these plates offer customizable porosity (typically 10–40%) and pore sizes ranging from 1 to 200 microns. They combine the mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, and thermal conductivity of bronze with the functional benefits of permeability, making them ideal for applications such as self-lubricating bearings, filtration of gases and liquids, heat exchangers, and pneumatic silencers.

Porous bronze plates typically consist of 80–90% copper and 10–20% tin, with optional graphite additives, and are characterized by a porosity range of 10–40% and pore sizes from 1 to 200 microns. Their density varies between 4.0 and 6.5 g/cm³, with permeability in the range of 10⁻¹² to 10⁻¹⁰ m². These plates exhibit tensile strengths between 20 and 100 MPa and compressive strengths up to 400 MPa, depending on porosity. They can operate at temperatures up to 300°C and offer moderate thermal conductivity (15–80 W/m·K), which is influenced by their density and porosity. Available in thicknesses from 0.5 mm to 50 mm, they are commonly manufactured in flat plate or custom-cut forms for filtration, lubrication, or heat management applications.
