Global Porous Alumina Ceramic Plates Market Growth 2025-2031
Description
The global Porous Alumina Ceramic Plates market size is predicted to grow from US$ 779 million in 2025 to US$ 1138 million in 2031; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6.5% from 2025 to 2031.
The impact of the latest U.S. tariff measures and the corresponding policy responses from countries worldwide on market competitiveness, regional economic performance, and supply chain configurations will be comprehensively evaluated in this report.
Porous alumina ceramic plates are high-performance components made from aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃) with a controlled network of interconnected pores, typically ranging from 0.5 to 100 microns in size and featuring porosity levels between 20% and 50%. These plates exhibit excellent thermal stability, chemical resistance, and mechanical strength, allowing them to operate at temperatures exceeding 1600°C. Commonly produced through sintering or foaming methods, they are used in applications such as high-temperature gas and liquid filtration, catalyst supports, solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs), furnace insulation, and microelectronic carrier substrates. Their customizable size, high purity (often above 95% Al₂O₃), and consistent pore structure make them ideal for demanding industrial and scientific environments.
Porous alumina ceramic plates typically consist of 85% to 99.8% aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃) and feature controlled pore sizes ranging from 0.5 to 100 microns with open porosity between 20% and 55%. They exhibit a density of 1.5 to 3.2 g/cm³, flexural strength from 30 to 200 MPa, and compressive strength up to 500 MPa, with mechanical strength decreasing as porosity increases. These plates can withstand temperatures up to 1600°C and have thermal conductivity between 1 and 10 W/m·K, depending on the pore structure. Their electrical resistivity is extremely high (~10⁸–10¹⁴ Ω·cm), making them excellent insulators. Water absorption ranges from 20% to 60%, and gas permeability varies with pore size and distribution. Typically white or off-white in color, they are available in flat, disc, or custom geometries with a naturally rough surface unless machined.
