Polysilicate refers to the general term for compounds formed by the combination of silicon, oxygen and other chemical elements (mainly aluminum, iron, calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, etc.). It can also be understood as a composite product of polysilicate and metal salts obtained by reacting with traditional inorganic flocculants such as aluminum salts and iron salts on the basis of polysilicate (i.e. activated silicic acid).
The chemical composition of polysilicate is complex, mainly including silicon (Si), oxygen (O) and combination with other metal elements (such as aluminum Al, iron Fe, etc.). Silicon atoms usually exist in the form of tetrahedrons, forming stable covalent bonds with oxygen atoms. These tetrahedral structures can be further connected to form chain-like, ring-like or network-like polymer compounds.
