Polyether polyols used for flexible foam are generally long-chain, low-functionality polyethers. The polyether polyol functionality in the soft foam formula is generally 2~3, and the average molecular weight is between 2000~6500. Polyether triol is the most widely used in soft foam, generally glycerin (glycerol) is used as the initiator, and there are 1,2-propylene oxide ring-opening polymerization or propylene oxide with two less ethylene oxide It is obtained by copolymerization, and the molecular weight is generally 3000~7000. Polyether diol can be used as an auxiliary raw material and mixed with polyether triol in the soft foam formula. The soft foam polyether with the largest amount in the early days was polyoxypropylene triol with a molecular weight of about 3000. The terminal hydroxyl groups of such polyethers are mainly secondary hydroxyl groups with low reactivity. Later, PO and EO copolyethers have basically been adopted. The polyether with a molecular weight of 3000~3500, containing a small amount of ethylene oxide chains and primary hydroxyl groups is used for ordinary heat-cured soft foam; the polyether with a molecular weight of 5000~6500 and a high content of primary hydroxyl groups (more than 70% mole fraction), commonly known as "high "Reactive polyether" is mainly used for high-resilience soft foam, and can also be used for semi-rigid foam and other foam products. This kind of polyether has good miscibility with water and isocyanate, suitable reactivity and greatly improved foam process stability. In addition, the foam curing time is shortened, which also reduces the production cost. In recent years, double metal cyanide complex (DMC) catalytic systems have been used at home and abroad to produce low unsaturation, high molecular weight polyether polyols. The high-molecular-weight polyether polyol produced by this new catalytic polymerization system can even reach a molecular weight of over 10,000, and the molecular weight distribution range is very narrow, which can be used in the production of soft foam and reduce the amount of TDI used.
