Description

The global Modular Carbon Capture Machine market size is predicted to grow from US$ 4797 million in 2025 to US$ 8011 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 7.7% from 2026 to 2032.

Carbon capture is a process that separates and captures carbon dioxide from industrial emissions or the air using physical, chemical, or biological technologies. Its core objective is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate global warming. The typical process involves capturing CO₂ at emission sources (such as power plants, steel mills, and cement plants), extracting it through adsorption, absorption, membrane separation, or condensation, then compressing, transporting, and ultimately storing it in underground geological structures or for other industrial uses (such as enhanced oil recovery or chemical feedstock). This technology can significantly reduce carbon emissions from heavy industry and the energy sector and is one of the key emission reduction solutions in the current global net-zero pathway.

North America and Europe will continue to be the core drivers of carbon capture technology. North America, leveraging its mature pipeline and geological storage conditions, coupled with policy incentives (such as the US 45Q tax credit), will focus on rapid expansion in large-scale commercial projects, co-capture of power plants and industrial sources, and the construction of long-distance CO₂ transportation networks. Europe, on the other hand, will focus on cross-border CCS infrastructure (such as the North Sea Storage Centre), carbon pricing mechanisms (EU ETS), and large-scale demonstration projects in industries with difficult carbon reduction, such as cement and steel, becoming a global standard-setter and regulatory framework setter.

Carbon capture development in Asia is experiencing rapid growth, primarily driven by China, Japan, and South Korea. China's future trend will focus on point source capture in industries such as steel, cement, and chemicals, gradually expanding to regional CO₂ pipeline networks and offshore storage facilities. Japan and South Korea are strengthening their capture demand in the export chains of blue hydrogen and blue ammonia and actively participating in transnational storage cooperation in Southeast Asia. Overall, the Asian market has the greatest potential, but its infrastructure, cost, and policy systems are still under development.

Driven by demand for low-cost natural gas, blue hydrogen production, and enhanced oil recovery (EOR), the Middle East will see the formation of large-scale CCUS clusters dominated by oil and gas companies, characterized by rapid growth and significant scale. South America, Africa, and Australia are developing differentiated paths based on their resource endowments: Australia focuses on offshore storage and LNG-related carbon capture; Brazil promotes biomass energy and negative emissions (BECCS); and some African countries are exploring CO₂ import storage and cross-border cooperation. Overall, global carbon capture will move from "project demonstrations" to "regional cluster networks," forming a multi-regional collaborative development pattern.
