The global Next-Generation Wearable Holter Device market size is predicted to grow from US$ 1374 million in 2025 to US$ 1702 million in 2031; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 3.6% from 2025 to 2031.
A Holter monitor is a small, wearable device that records your heart activity for typically 24 to 72 hours, and up to 7 to 14 days. The device is small, lightweight, and hangs around your neck while connecting cable to sensors attached to your chest. A Holter monitor captures all your heart activity throughout the day and while your sleep. This allows a physician to determine if there are intermittent abnormalities to your heart rhythm over an extended period of time. The test is safe and painless.
Abnormal heartbeats are called arrhythmias. It causes a decrease in the heart"s ability to pump blood, which reduces blood supply to vital organs such as the brain. Without proper blood flow to the brain, it can cause a person to faint, and when the rhythm returns to normal, the person regains consciousness. Therefore, heart rhythm is associated with many diseases and requires treatment. It is important to look for the cause of the rhythm disturbance and monitor electrical activity. This can be monitored with the help of an implantable heart monitor, which has a battery life of up to three or four years. The ICM continuously monitors heart rhythm and automatically stores records for years in real-world scenarios. With the capability of long-term continuous monitoring, ICM has proven to be a sensitive method for detecting unexplained syncope, subclinical atrial fibrillation and palpitations. These devices automatically record heart rate without any external intervention. The ICM can capture information that is often missed by a Holter or standard electrocardiogram (ECG), but some heart rhythm abnormalities occur rarely. Existing studies of these devices have provided sufficient evidence that implantable heart monitors are suitable for patients with atrial fibrillation, syncope and even myocardial infarction.
Atrial fibrillation is an irregular and often rapid heart rate that increases the risk of stroke, heart failure and other heart-related complications. It is expected to affect 17.9 million people by 2050. Short-term monitoring is not optimal for understanding the burden. After radiofrequency ablation, the ICM has become the first choice for cardiac monitoring. Fainting is a disorder triggered by a sudden, temporary drop in blood flow to the brain, resulting in loss of consciousness and muscle control. This is due to decreased blood flow to the brain or any other organ in the body. Low blood pressure can also cause passing out. The International Study of Syncope of Unknown Etiology (ISSUE) highlights various aspects of the utility of ICMs in the transient loss of consciousness (TLOC) population. It has been observed that ICM is used more in syncope than conventional testing. Myocardial infarction, commonly known as a heart attack, is said to occur when blood flow to the heart is blocked or completely stopped. The use of ICMs in patients with acute myocardial infarction allows for continuous ECG monitoring and a more detailed understanding of the incidence of bradyarrhythmias and tachyarrhythmias than conventional follow-up.
