The delay line interferometer is an optical interferometer for measuring the displacement or vibration of objects with high accuracy. The interferometer consists of two optical paths, one of which is delayed for a certain time relative to the other. This delay is usually introduced by optical fiber or delay line. When the laser beam is divided into these two paths and recombined, the resulting interference pattern is sensitive to any phase shift between the two paths.
