The strengthening mechanism of obalt based self-fluxing alloy is that a large amount of high hardness carbides and borides are dispersed on the chromium containing cobalt solid solution matrix, which has better oxidation resistance and wear resistance than CoCrW alloy. Its high-temperature hardness is higher than that of nickel based self melting alloy. Cobalt based self-fluxing alloy powder is generally used for surface strengthening and repair of important high-temperature abrasion resistant parts. Such as high-temperature and high-pressure valve plates and seats, exhaust valve sealing surfaces of internal combustion engines, various engine components under hot corrosion conditions, and so on.
