Cerium trifluoride is one of the fluorides of lanthanide cerium, and its chemical formula is CeF3. Dissolve soluble cerium (III) salt in water, add 3.2 times (molar ratio) of NH4HCO3 under heating to obtain basic cerium carbonate, and then react with 40% hydrofluoric acid to obtain CeF3. Direct reaction of cerium nitrate and sodium fluoride , CeF3 can be obtained. Under the condition of hydrothermal reaction, F− source can also be provided by fluoroborate to prepare CeF3.
