A batch furnace is an industrial thermal processing equipment that operates on a basic cycle of "single-batch loading—heating/holding—cooling/discharging." Its typical appearance is a furnace body (box-type/well-type/cart-type/hood-type, etc.) with an insulated shell and door. The interior consists of a thermal chamber formed by refractory and insulation structures, equipped with resistance heating elements or a combustion system, temperature control and measurement system, atmosphere/exhaust system, and safety interlock system. Depending on the process, it can be expanded to controllable atmosphere, vacuum, or with an integrated quenching/cooling unit. This type of equipment is widely used in annealing, tempering, normalizing, solution aging, carburizing/nitriding, sintering, roasting, homogenization, and preheating of metals and materials. Its core value lies in achieving microstructure/phase transformation, stress release, surface chemical reactions, or material property stabilization through a controllable temperature profile and (selectable) atmospheric environment.
