3D weld inspection is a detection method based on non-contact optical measurement technology, which uses high-precision three-dimensional imaging systems (such as line laser scanning, structured light projection or binocular stereo vision) to perform millimeter-level to micron-level spatial reconstruction of the weld surface morphology. Its core principle is to use laser triangulation reflection or phase-shift fringe projection technology to obtain the height field data (Z axis) and two-dimensional contour information (X-Y plane) of the weld area, and generate a three-dimensional geometric model of the weld through a point cloud registration algorithm to achieve quantitative measurement of key dimensions such as weld excess height, width, misalignment, undercut depth, and surface waviness. This technology breaks through the plane projection limitations of traditional 2D visual inspection, and can accurately identify three-dimensional defects such as pits, cracks, and spatter on the weld surface, and realize automatic classification and quantitative evaluation of defects based on geometric feature analysis (such as curvature mutation and local roughness).
