Description
U.S. Residential Multichannel Pay TV Consumer Spending Forecast, 2022–2026
This IDC study presents a forecast of residential multichannel pay TV consumer spending, often referenced in pay TV provider quarterly and annual reports as video revenue, in the United States through 2026. Forecast segmentation reflects the three major market segments: cable, satellite, and telco TV services."IDC believes that the U.S. cable, satellite, and telco TV providers will continue to experience subscriber erosion during the forecast period as household penetration of residential services dips under 50% in 2022 and under 40% in 2025," said Greg Ireland, research director, TV and OTT Video at IDC. "As subscriber erosion takes place, so too does aggregate consumer spending on these services. What was once a $100 billion market is on its way to generating just $50 billion in consumer spend in 2026."
