U.S. Fixed Wireless Access Services Forecast, 2023–2027
This IDC study examines the U.S. market for fixed wireless access (FWA) services across consumers and business customers in both legacy 4G and emerging 5G forms."For businesses, FWA is fueling 'wireless first' connectivity ambitions through a combination of broader availability than most wired providers, flexible deployment options, and the ability to utilize a cost-effective single provider for broadband across the United States," says Jason Leigh, research manager, Mobility and 5G research at IDC. "While the need to manage FWA's impact on the mobile subscriber's network experience is resulting in a more deliberate expansion of availability than some would prefer, the appetite for high-performing reliable broadband is near universal and FWA provides a cost-effective competitive alternative to wired connectivity."
