Description
Australia and New Zealand: Public Cloud Forecast, 2022–2026
The public cloud market in Australia and New Zealand is forecast to grow to US$13.9 billion in 2023, representing a growth of 19.4%, marking the first time that the forecast has dipped below 20%. This signals a new phase of growth for cloud services, one that is marked by maturity in multicloud usage, healthy platform growth (PaaS) at 36.3%, whereas IaaS has moderated to 15.4%, highlighting the importance of data/analytics/AI management and engineering services to support digital business and operating models going forward. "At this point in time, we are seeing a shift to optimisation of multicloud resources using FinOps, more autonomous operations, and an increased focus on digital sovereignty and data security as enterprises. In governments and enterprises, modernisation agendas continue to drive growth in cloud services but are challenged by the realities of the economic conditions," says Linus Lai, chief analyst, IDC ANZ.
