According to our (Global Info Research) latest study, the global Vegan Plant Meat market size was valued at US$ 2022 million in 2024 and is forecast to a readjusted size of USD 3319 million by 2031 with a CAGR of 7.4% during review period.

Plant-based Meat made from plants such as soy. It is especially designed and created to look like, taste like, and cook like conventional meat. Artificial meat can be in the form of a burger patty, nuggets, or even crumbles and sausages and as it grows more popular, these veggie-based alternatives are shaking up the meat industry and everything we thought we knew about veggie burgers.

Products from different manufacturers have different formulas. Different types of protein and different taste. Therefore, the source of plant protein in plant meat is basically a compound formula composed of soy protein, broad bean protein, and chickpea protein etc.

The scope of artificial meat includes meat substitutes and their foods. There are mainly two types:

One type of artificial meat is also called soy protein meat or vegetarian meat, which is mainly made of soy protein (also includes further processed products, such as hot dogs, hamburgers, sausages, etc.), rich in protein and a small amount of fat. This type of artificial meat is divided into traditional and new types. In addition to plant-based raw materials, traditional products also contain animal-related raw materials, such as eggs or gelatin. The new type of vegetarian meat is produced entirely from plant-based raw materials, does not require any animal-related raw materials, and the taste of the new type of vegetarian meat is closer to real meat than traditional vegetarian meat. This is because the new type of pure vegetarian meat uses an extremely complex production process, adding hemoglobin and adhesives extracted from plants through fermentation technology, which can imitate the taste of real meat and bring a similar experience to eating real meat.

The other is to use animal stem cells for production, also known as cultured meat. Researchers use sugar, amino acids, oils, minerals and a variety of nutrients to cultivate animal stem cells, artificially induce differentiation, and produce artificial meat. This type of artificial meat, also known as "clean meat", "cultivated meat" or "non-slaughter meat", is rarer than the previous one. The meat products cultivated in this way are the same as traditional meat products. Currently, Tyson Foods, Memphis Meats, JUST and Twin Towers Foods have successively announced the development of cultured meat. Memphis Meats claims that the production cost of its cultured beef is $18,000 per pound ($40,000/kg), which is relatively high.

Due to the high cost of stem cell production, it has not yet been commercialized, and the products on the market are mainly the first category. This report only focuses on the market status of the first category of products.
