Its quick drying characteristics were a major factor leading to mass production in the car industry. Despite new resin systems being constantly developed, nitrocellulose still keeps its prominent place in the rotogravure and flexography printing inks, nail polish, wood sealant and finish, car refinish and leather finish segments, with new applications cropping up all the time. A large number of patents was granted in connection with the application of new products based on nitrocellulose.
