Ferrous sulfate is mainly the byproduct during the titanium oxide production using sulfate process. Thus, most of ferrous sulfate manufacturers are global leading titanium oxide producers. As the by product is dangerous chemical, titanium oxide producers must have to handle ferrous sulfate appropriately. Many titanium oxide producers are puzzled by the handle of ferrous sulfate. Only a certain part of ferrous sulfate has been sold to external customers as a commodity, the remained parts are treated as waste.Titanium dioxide manufacturers are facing more pressure for handling of waste, commercialization of ferrous sulfate instead of treating as waste help them increase revenue and release environmental protection pressure synchronously.

Applications of ferrous sulfate mainly come from iron oxide pigment industry, water treatment industry, food industry, feed industry, cement industry, battery industry, agriculture, etc. Among them, iron oxide pigment industry is the largest consumer, with sales share staying at about 30%.
