Gas-insulated OLTC, the full name of which is gas-insulated on-load tap changer, is a special electrical equipment switch that allows the tap changer of the transformer to be adjusted while the transformer is running (i.e. with load), thereby changing the output voltage of the transformer. This switch is designed to finely adjust the voltage without affecting the continuous power supply of the power system. Unlike the no-load tap changer (NLTC), OLTC allows voltage adjustment when the transformer is running with load without interrupting the power supply.
