Fused Biconical Taper Splitter is a kind of passive optical fiber device based on fused biconical technology. The manufacturing process involves binding two or more optical fibers with the coating layer removed together, subjecting them to high-temperature heating and melting on a taping machine, and simultaneously stretching them to both sides to form a conical coupling zone. By controlling the twisting Angle and stretching length of the optical fibers, different splitting ratios can be obtained. During the stretching process, the coupling and splitting ratios of each optical fiber are monitored in real time. Once the requirements are met, the melt stretching is completed. One end of the fiber is retained as the input end, and the other end is used as the output end of multiple channels, thereby achieving the splitting or merging of optical signals. It enables the optical signals transmitted in optical fibers to couple in a specially structured coupling area, thereby redistributing the optical power. It can be coupled once according to application requirements and has the advantages of simple process, low cost, and easy connection with external optical fibers. It can withstand mechanical vibration and temperature changes and is widely used in the optical signal distribution scenarios of optical fiber communication systems.
