Global Cellulase Supply, Demand and Key Producers, 2026-2032
Description
The global Cellulase market size is expected to reach $ 2287 million by 2032, rising at a market growth of 6.1% CAGR during the forecast period (2026-2032).
Cellulase (CAS 9012-54-8) is a linear polysaccharide of glucose residues connected by β-1,4 linkages. Like chitin it is not cross-linked. Native crystalline cellulose is insoluble and occurs as fibers of densely packed, hydrogen bonded, anhydroglucose chains of 15 to 10,000 glucose units. Its density and complexity make it very resistant to hydrolysis without preliminary chemical or mechanical degradation or swelling. In nature cellulose is usually associated with other polysaccharides such as xylan or lignin. It is the skeletal basis of plant cell walls. Cellulose is the most abundant organic source of food, fuel and chemicals. However, its usefulness is dependent upon its hydrolysis to glucose. Acid and high temperature degradation are unsatisfactory in that the resulting sugars are decomposed; enzymatic degradation (cellulase) is the most effective means of degrading cellulose into useful components. Although cellulases are distributed throughout the biosphere, they are most prevalent in fungal and microbial sources.
The global sales of Cellulase increased from 322.21 K tons in 2023 to 549.37 K tons in 2030, at a CAGR of 7.97%. In 2023, the global Cellulase market size was increased to US$ 1,316.9 million in 2023, and it will reach US$ 2,009.3 million in 2030, growing at CAGR of 6.24% between 2024 and 2030.
Currently, there are many producing companies in the world. The main market players are Novozymes, Genencor (IFF), DSM, AB Enzymes, Amano Enzyme, BIO-CAT, Shandong Longda Bio-Products, ENMEX, Sunson Industry Group, Sinobios, etc. Top ten cellulose producers account for 63.13% of revenue share in 2023.
Cellulase downstream are wide and recently cellulase have acquired increasing significance in various fields of food and beverage, animal feed, textile, biofuels and others. Globally, the Cellulase market is mainly driven by growing demand for animal feed, health food; health beverage and bioenergy. Animal Feed hold about 25.68% of global downstream consumption of Cellulase in 2023.
Vendors should recognize the importance of emerging markets and potential applications, particularly in Asia Pacific, and are working towards penetrating this market by strengthening their sales and distribution networks. In the future, our research team predicts that more and more companies will join the industry due to its potential market size. But it is suggested that enterprises those have plans to enter this industry have careful analysis of this market and the advantages or disadvantages of themselves.
